Crafted from white Australian clay, this large statement piece by Cleo and Venus Ganis bridges the boundary between functional design and sculptural art. Hand-mixed, colour-tinted clays are pressed into the base body, forming soft, cloud-like patterns that drift across the surface—each composition unique and reminiscent of clouds suspended in the sky.
The gentle curves and organic contours of the form evoke the serenity and movement of nature, capturing a sense of stillness and lightness within the clay itself.
Finished with a clear satin glaze, the surface retains a natural, tactile warmth while ensuring the piece is food safe and functional. Whether used as a display object to invite calm and contemplation, or as a platter for serving food, this piece brings an elegant connection to nature within your home.
Measuring approximately 50cm wide by 50cm long and 10cm high.

Each cup is individually wheel-thrown by Australian ceramic artist Venus Ganis, who brings over 40 years of wheel-throwing experience to her craft. Formed from Australian white speckle clay, the cup showcases the natural beauty and subtle texture of the material.
Once partially dried, each piece is hand-carved using the Japanese technique of kurinuki—a method that involves removing clay to shape and define the form. This process ensures that no two cups are ever the same, giving every vessel a distinct personality and tactile character.
Finished with a clear satin glaze, the surface retains the clay’s organic speckles with a soft sheen. The glaze is food-safe and durable, making the cup suitable for everyday use while celebrating the artistry of handmade ceramics.
Measuring approximately 10cm high by 6cm diameter.

The rough textures of molten earth, sun cracked surface and pitting, all qualities reminiscent of the earth’s crust. Mt Glorious is a place in Brisbane which is still classed as an active volcano. This was the sole inspiration of the initial wheel thrown bowl that has been eroded by a ripped, irregular, asymmetric rim, giving the natural, almost eroded look—as if shaped by geological forces rather than tools.
The purposefully ripped black clay at the edge was a technique learned in our recent workshop in Japan. This mix of wheel thrown and the naturally formed rim, combine opposing elements that work together with one piece.
The exterior is richly layered with variegated glazes, from deep turquoise, smoky blues, rust browns, and subtle metallic sheens. These colours blend and pool in a way that suggests weathering, fire, and mineral deposits, characteristic of atmospheric or reduction-fired ceramics.
The surface shows marks of hand-forming—slight ridges and undulations that highlight the maker’s touch. The interior appears darker and smoother, with glazing that has pooled into glossy patches.
A striking, sculptural ceramic vessel that celebrates raw texture, natural imperfection, and the unpredictable beauty of kiln-fire. It feels both ancient and contemporary—an object that could sit in a gallery or on a ritual table.
Measuring approximately 17cm high by 20 cm diameter.

Handcrafted amongst the lush rainforest surrounds of our Mt Glorious Studio, this unique ceramic vase takes on the organic form and texture of a tree.
Each piece is individually hand-formed and carved using the traditional Japanese kurinuki technique — a process of hollowing from a single block of clay to reveal a vessel with deep, tactile character.
A vibrant, high-gloss green glaze is applied to the textured surface, capturing the play of rainforest light on mossy trunks and wet foliage. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that feels both fossilised and alive — a sculptural vessel that celebrates the meeting of craftsmanship, nature, and form.
Measuring approximately 25cm high by 6cm diameter.
